Safety is the foundation of everything we do at SAAPA. Browse our safety library, stay informed about local hazards, and participate in WINGS activities to stay sharp.
The safety library is being built. Check back soon for videos, documents, and articles on aviation safety topics.
Always check for TFRs before every flight. Northeast Florida sees periodic TFRs for VIP movement, military operations, and special events.
Check TFRsKSGJ experiences elevated bird activity, especially during migration seasons (spring and fall) and near coastal areas. Large flocks of seabirds are common at low altitudes. Exercise increased vigilance during dawn and dusk.
KSGJ is surrounded by residential neighborhoods. Following voluntary noise abatement procedures protects our airport and community relationship.
View ProceduresBe aware of runway conditions, especially after rain. KSGJ's secondary runway (6/24) is shorter at 2,603 ft. Always check NOTAMs for closures, construction, or surface conditions before operating.
Check NOTAMsNo safety bulletins have been published yet. Check back for safety alerts and advisories specific to the KSGJ area.
The FAA WINGS program is the premier voluntary safety education program. By completing WINGS activities, you demonstrate ongoing commitment to safe flying and can satisfy your flight review requirements.
SAAPA regularly hosts WINGS-eligible events including safety seminars, flight activities, and knowledge sessions. Check our events calendar for upcoming WINGS activities.
